McCarty rushes for 167 yards to lead Albany over Robert Morris

ALBANY, N.Y. - David McCarty rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 61-yard scoring pass to lead Albany to a 45-17 win over Robert Morris in Northeast Conference play Saturday.

Albany (6-3, 4-0) led 17-0 in the second quarter, when Robert Morris kicker Michael Walser narrowed the gap with a 41-yard field goal at 12:01 to make it 17-3.

Robert Morris quarterback Erik Cwalinski found Julian Ellison with a 23-yard touchdown pass, making it 17-10 at 4:45 in the second.

Albany answered with a 61-yard touchdown pass from Vinny Esposito to McCarty at 3:16 in the second.

A 5-yard run by McCarty at 11:49 in the third made it a 31-10 game.

Justin Gannon ran for 2 yards at 6:35 in the fourth. Robert Morris (3-6, 2-3) answered with 3-yard pass from Cwalinski to Sean McElhinney, making it 38-17 with 4:00 left in the game.

Albany's Omar Johnson scored the final touchdown with an 18-yard run with 1:24 left to play.
