CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Freshman wide receiver Adam Chrissis scored his first two career touchdowns Saturday to lead Harvard past previously undefeated Cornell, 38-17.
Chrissis, starting due to injuries to Harvard's regulars, scored on his first career reception, a 67-yard pass from Chris Pizzotti less than two minutes into the game. He later added a 22-yard touchdown run on an end-around.
Pizzotti completed 16 of 23 passes for 281 yards and three touchdowns, while wide receiver Matt Luft caught four passes for 139 yards to lead Harvard (3-1, 1-1 Ivy League).
Cornell quarterback Nathan Ford completed 32 of 53 passes for 279 yards but was intercepted twice.
Harvard built on Chrissis' early score when Cheng Ho's 4-yard run made it 14-0.
Cornell (3-1, 1-1) answered with a 54-yard drive that ended when Randy Barbour scored from the 2 to make it 14-7.
But Harvard scored the next three touchdowns to put the game away. Pizzotti hit Levi Richards with a 21-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, then an interception and penalty set up Chrissis' scoring run with just over a minute left in the first half. Pizzotti hit Luft for 66 yards, then hit tight end Jason Miller for a 6-yard score to make it 38-10 early in the fourth quarter.
Ford hit Zac Canty on a 12-yard pass to close out the scoring.
