SAN DIEGO -- Freshman Lynell Hamilton rushed for 218 yards as San Diego State beat Wyoming 25-20 Saturday night to snap a four-game losing streak.
J.C. Mejia kicked four field goals in the first half to tie the single-game record for San Diego State (4-5, 1-3 Mountain West) as the Aztecs beat the Cowboys (3-5, 1-2) for a fifth straight time.
Hamilton, who had 40 carries, recorded his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the season, and nearly surpassed his best of 220 yards against Division I-AA Samford on Sept. 20.
Wyoming's Casey Bramlet threw a season-high three interceptions, including two that led to second-half touchdowns. But Bramlet finished 25-of-45 for 247 yards and led a late comeback by passing for two fourth-quarter scores.
With the Cowboys trailing 25-6 in the fourth quarter, Bramlet hit Malcom Floyd with a 26-yard scoring pass with 7:36 to play. Later Bramlet connected with Jovan Bouknight for a 27-yard touchdown strike with 3:39 left.
But the Aztecs recovered the ensuing onside kick and ran out the clock.
San Diego State's Adam Hall completed 14 of 26 passes for 191 yards and one touchdown. He also had a 5-yard run for his first rushing TD of the season.
Deric Yaussi kicked field goals of 21 and 26 yards for Wyoming, while Floyd finished with 14 catches for 120 yards.
The Aztecs outgained the Cowboys 397-292 and sacked Bramlet five times.
Kirk Morrison sparked San Diego State's defense with 14 tackles, including two for losses, and an interception.
Randy Tscharner had 11 tackles to lead Wyoming, while Tyler Gottschalk had nine stops, including one for a loss, and Chris Dixon racked up his fourth interception of the season.
Wyoming hosts Colorado State this Saturday at 1 p.m.
