CORVALLIS, Ore. - Yvenson Bernard ran for 149 yards and Alexis Serna kicked five field goals to make Oregon State bowl eligible with a wild 29-23 win over Washington on Saturday night that turned ugly when four players were ejected.

Washington sophomore quarterback Jake Locker was taken off the field in an ambulance in the second quarter, after a hit near the Huskies sideline left him motionless. He was put on a stretcher, lifted into an ambulance and taken to a local hospital.

Locker later was released and returned to Reser Stadium after a neck injury was ruled out.

He was replaced on the field by senior Carl Bonnell and the rest of the game was characterized by personal foul penalties and near fights.

Serna kicked field goals of 51, 43, 34, 30 and 28 yards for Oregon State (6-4, 4-3 Pac-10).

Bonnell threw for 233 yards for the Huskies (3-7, 1-6).

Oregon State led 29-10 but Bonnell revived the Huskies with touchdown passes of 41 yards to Anthony Russo and 81 yards to Cody Ellis in the fourth to make it 29-23.

The Beavers drove down the field and Bernard seemed to have scored on a short rush with about 2:38 left. The ball popped out and Washington's Roy Lewis ran it back to the Beavers 38. With Oregon State out of timeouts the play wasn't reviewed, and the Huskies advanced the ball to the 29. But Bonnell's fourth-down pass to Russo was incomplete, and Oregon State held on.

The Beavers were leading 13-0 in the second quarter when Locker went down.

He was scrambling on third-down with 6:18 left in the half when he was hit by Oregon State safety Al Afalava.

Afalava's face mask appeared to collide with the back of Locker's helmet. Locker lay on the ground near the Oregon State 45 for approximately 15 minutes and didn't appear to move while being attended to by emergency workers.

The game quickly deteriated.

Washington defensive tackle Wilson Afoa appeared to slug Bernard in the face after Bernard's helmet had popped off. No penalty was called and Oregon State offensive lineman Jeremy Perry was called for a personal foul on the next play for shoving a Husky.

Oregon State quarterback Lyle Moevao, a sophomore making his first career start, threw an interception and fumbled in the third quarter, opening the door for the Huskies.

First, Trenton Tuiasosopo intercepted Moevao to set up a Ryan Perkins 42-yard field goal. After Moevao fumbled, the Huskies drove down the field, with Brandon Johnson rushing seven yards down to the Beaver 2 when another shoving match broke out.

Off-setting penalties were called and three players - Brandon Hughes and Bryan Payton of Oregon State and Ryan Tolar of Washington - were ejected.

Bonnell scored moments later to cut the lead to 16-10. The Beavers went three-and-out and safety James Dockery was kicked out of the game after a tackle on kick coverage.

In all, there were six personal fouls calls.
